British Army flexes its armour in Poland exercise.

A column of Warrior Armoured fighting vehicles move through an autumnal forest track in Poland.

More than 1300 British soldiers and 100 armoured vehicles, including Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank and Warrior (Infantry Fighting Vehicle), from the 3rd UK Division take part in Exercise BLACK EAGLE, a British/Polish exercise being conducted in western Poland.
Salisbury Plain-based The KingÕs Royal Hussars, the UKÕs Lead Armoured Battle Group operating the Challenger, is conducting live-firing battlefield scenarios alongside its Polish counterparts with the Leopard 2 Main Battle Tank; while 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh (Armoured Infantry), with the Warrior, is providing the troops on the ground.
A significant demonstration of the UKÕs support to the region and NATOÕs Immediate Assurance Measures, Ex BLACK EAGLE also highlights the British ArmyÕs ability to deploy an Armoured Battle Group at short notice anywhere in the world in support of the nationÕs allies.
Breakdown:
20 Challenger 2 Main Battle Tanks
4 Challenger recovery vehicles
75 other armoured vehicles (including Warrior and Bulldog)
